Library management strategy in increasing reading interest at SMA negeri 1 belang

Abstract
A study has been conducted on library
management strategies in increasing reading interest in SMA Negeri 1 Tomohon. This
study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and results of library
management strategies in SMA Negeri 1 Belang in order to increase students'
reading interest. Data collection techniques used were through observation,
interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in the field were the
Miles and Huberman Model such as data reduction, data presentation and
conclusions. Data triangulation in this study was carried out in two ways,
namely triangulation with sources and triangulation with methods. The results
show that planning a comfortable and attractive school library environment is
an important investment in creating a positive literacy culture in SMA Negeri 1
Belang. Strategic and creative planning and implementation of library promotion
in SMA Negeri 1 Belang is the key to increasing the attractiveness and
utilization of the library. With the right promotion, the school library can
become a center for lively literacy activities and contribute significantly to
fostering students' reading interest. Strategic and ongoing cooperation with
subject teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Belang is also the key to effectively
integrating the library into the learning process and fostering students'
reading interest. The library requires competent staff, knowledgeable about
student literacy, effective communication and promotion skills, and supported
by ongoing professional development programs. The implementation of effective
library management in increasing students' reading interest at SMA Negeri 1 Belang
requires commitment from all parties in the school, including the principal,
teachers, library staff, and students.
