Effective
educational administration and management are critical for ensuring the success
of educational institutions in achieving their goals. This dissertation
addresses the critical issue of inadequate training and professional
development among educational officers in Mangalore Taluk by identifying
specific gaps in their educational administration and management skills.
Through a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both qualitative data from
interviews and quantitative data from surveys, the research assesses the
current competencies and training needs of these officers. The findings reveal
significant deficits in key areas such as strategic planning, resource
management, and stakeholder engagement, which are essential for effective
educational administration. Furthermore, the study underscores the importance
of tailored professional development programs aimed at enhancing these
competencies, thereby contributing to improved educational outcomes. The
significance of these findings extends to the broader implications for the
healthcare sector, highlighting the interconnectedness of educational
management and public health initiatives. By equipping educational officers
with essential skills, the study posits that fostering collaborative efforts
between education and healthcare can lead to more cohesive strategies for
community health promotion and disease prevention. Ultimately, this research
contributes to the discourse on professional development in education, offering
insights that may inform policy and practice in training frameworks, thereby enhancing
