Abstract
Organic farming in India has gained significant traction as a
sustainable agricultural practice in response to the growing concerns of soil
degradation, pesticide overuse, and environmental sustainability. The
traditional farming system, which emphasizes the use of natural inputs and the
conservation of ecological balance, presents numerous opportunities and
challenges. This review article examines the scope and limitations of organic
farming in India, considering its potential to enhance food security, promote
environmental health, and reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers and
pesticides, while also addressing the barriers to its widespread adoption.
