Abstract
Carbon credits and carbon markets are
market-based mechanisms aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. They assign
economic value to emission reductions and encourage low-carbon technologies. Carbon
trading helps industries shift towards environmentally sustainable practices. The
concept is closely linked with the green economy, renewable energy, and
environmental finance. This study examines the role of carbon credits in
promoting sustainable development and climate mitigation.
