Implementation of various translation techniques is an attempt to obtain the correspondence of language variety, word choice, and target text style with the source text. This study aims to examine the translation techniques applied to Iphigenie auf Tauris texts by J. W. von Goethe. This research is a qualitative descriptive using equivalence translation method. The samples areset by purposive sampling technique. Hatim and Munday’s translation techniques are employed. Having analyzed the data, we conclude that the modulation technique is most widely applied and free modulation clarifies meanings and seeks a natural equivalence.
