Abstract
The observance of food prohibitions is of paramount importance in Baoulé communities as a risk factor. Today, it is still observable and is not spared by the noria of time. This situation deserves to be clarified in order to understand the meaning of such logic in prenatal surveillance. The study identified by choice rationale 25 surveyed in Baoulé rural Kongodekro. Supported by individual interviews and supported by the structuro-functionalist analysis, it has highlighted the meaning of the genetic thinking of pregnant women in terms of food restriction. The results indicate that adherence to food prohibitions is determined by an ideological and social dependence based on the fear of evil sanctions or morbidities following a transgression and then on the obvious perpetuation of this customary food behavior.
