Influence of meditative practices on concentration and intelligence of players from different discipline

Abstract

Concentration or selective attention involves being able to attend, and how long you can continue to attend to what is going on around you. The move you have the ability to attend to what you want to, the better the response and the performance. Concentration or selective attention involves being able to attend, and how long you can continue to attend to what is going on around you. The move you have the ability to attend to what you want to, the better the response and the performance. For the purpose of this study, 40 physical education college women students of Annamalai University, Chidambaram were selected at random and the average age of the subject ranged from 17 to 22 years with mean and SD of 18.68 + 0.97. The subjects were subjected to transcendental meditation training which was specially designed keeping in view the objective of the study to improve the concentration and intelligence of physical education students. The training was given for 6 weeks, 5 days per week, with 20-30 Minutes of duration.

Finally, to conclude based on the present finding it can be said that practicing transcendental meditation can be a solution to achieve better concentration and also it can add to the intelligence factor as a whole.
