The main objective of this article is to investigate the relationship between market power and capital structure. Capital structure has been tried with a different perspective by investigating its relationship with market power. To the best of authors’ knowledge, this is the first study that investigates the relationship between market power and leverage in any developing economy by employing the data of cement firms of India. We have also provided a logical explanation towards the factors affecting leverage.
