Transfer pricing in conglomerates and multinationals: Concept and practices

Abstract
International access and globalisation have been inextricably linked today. One sustains the other. Transnational and multinational corporations have been there for over 100 years but they are being spotted, inter alia, now because of the speed with which they are being established, and the earlier ones making their presence felt in the hitherto and the convergence of IT, communication, and broadcasting. The pace at which the microchips are available now which are 1/1, 000, 000 of the width of the human hair, with much more operating capability and much lower consumption of power. In such a Backdrop, transfer pricing in now one of the key issues in industrial management. When conglomerates within a country and multinationals across the countries is a common phenomenon, sourcing within an Organization is a necessary concomitant. Then as businesses continued globalization efforts and fiscal authorities become increasingly concerned with claiming their fair share of tax revenues. Truly, transfer pricing has evolved from primarily a country’s concern to a global one.
