Abstract: Two compounds were isolated and characterized from dichloromethane extract of Tinospora cordifolia. The compounds are known as 1-octacosnol (1) and stigmasta-5, 22, 25-triene-2, 3-diol (2). The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis with 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR. The 1-octacosanol has potential benefit against Parkinson disease. It also inhibit the production of cholesterol. The compound (2) stigmasta-5, 22, 25-triene-2, 3-diol appears to be the first report of its occurrence.
